GET LUCKY- DAFT PUNK FEAT. PHARRELL WILLIAMS
Widely known as the pioneers of the house music genre, Daft Punk triumphantly returns to the music scene with this new single. A departure from the recent menagerie of heavy beats, Get Lucky is light with a 70’s almost disco vibe. This song is perfect for taking that 5 minute dance-while-no-one-is-watching break as you try to cram in those last few details on World War 2. As with other Daft Punk songs, the catchy “we’re up all night to get lucky” chorus will have you humming all day and dancing in your seat. MYKONOS- FLEET FOXES
Released on their first EP (Sun Giant), Mykonos is still a fan favorite from Fleet Foxes and for good reason. The song features the soothing vocals of frontman Robin Peckold intertwined with intricate yet subdued harmonies. Mykonos has two parts, each with its own distinct auditory interest; listening to it is almost like taking a vacation on an idyllic island. |
HANG LOOSE- ALABAMA SHAKES
Alabama Shakes debuted their first full length album, Boys and Girls, last year. It contains many feel-good songs such as Hang Loose and Hold On. Hang Loose is short and sweet, but pack a mighty punch of positive energy. Singer Brittany Howard’s unique voice charges on throughout the song telling you to “Hang loose let the ocean worry ‘bout being blue” because in the end everything will work out. Backed with pleasant, surf-rock-esque instrumentals, this song will provide release and optimism after your tests.
