Q: How Long have you been skiing?
A: I have been skiing for 9 to 10 years.
Q: Who are your sponsors?
A: My sponsors are Faction Skis, Smith Optics, Granite Chief, Ski Shop, DNA Outerwear, Hestra Gloves, and Lightpole Clothing.
Q: Who taught you how to ski and what tricks are you capable of doing?
A: My parents both originally taught me how to ski but once I started to ski with a team, they taught me more difficult techniques. Also, I can do quite a few tricks but my go to tricks include flat 3s and normal 360s.
Q: Do you compete?
A: Yes, I have been competing for a while. I have been competing in the Junior Freeskiing Tour for the last four years, but do to complicated reasons I will be moving to another competition called the International Free Skiers Association starting January 15th.
Q: Since it does not snow all year, how do you manage to practice?
A: Yes, it doesn’t snow all year, which makes it difficult, but I do lots of dry land training. This summer I was fortunate enough to ski in Chile-that was pretty cool.
Q: Do you have any future goals for yourself?
A: My goal as a skier is to go pro and just ski as long as I can. I love it.
Q: Is there anybody that is an inspiration to you?
A: All skiers around me on the mountain inspire me, but I look up to Shane McConkey and Candide Thovex.
Q: What School do you attend?
A: I am 18 years old and I attend Sugar Bowl Academy. We ski in the morning during the weekdays and go to school at night. On these days only the academy kids ski. The Academy has a team of 5 skiers. On the weekend many people from the city drive up here to Tahoe and ski on the weekend team.
Q: How has skiing influenced you as a person and what has it personally done to you?
A: Skiing is apart of me now; I don’t know what I would do without it. It is a great way to be actively creative. I love trying new tricks that people have never done before.
