The Black Keyes ConcertWritten By: Gabriella Tiffany
A few weeks ago I attended the Black Keys concert with my best friend in tow. We had been huge fans for a long time but had never gotten to see them live. Simply put, they were absolutely incredible. The songs they played were all hits, old and new. The show started with one of my favorites "Howlin' For You," it's a great song to pump up a huge crowd of 20-somethings. The Black Keys can really be described as a simplistic band with strong roots. When they perform, they don't really connect with the audience. Instead of talking with them and relating, all they do is play their music. That's really what they're all about. They aren't about labels, or popularity or money. All they want to do is play music for people who want to hear it. I believe they are one of the most real and true bands we have these days. Not only are all their lyrics and compositions completely original, their music is a genre that can reach all types of people on all types of levels. Also, what surprises people is that they have been making music for the past seven or eight years. Only until about two years ago did their music start gaining recognition, albeit very overdue. The point of this article was to entice you. Listen to them, give it a try, I promise you won't be disappointed. |
